{ oh all you need is love }

since we've had Zuzu, date nights have become much more scarce; and i hate that--date nights are important! because as much as i love zuzu, i love Bryan first and most. a strong marriage is the core of a strong family, so we want to take time for just the two of us as much as we can.

all that said, we're going to start a new project: 52 date nights, a date for each week of the year. i got the idea from simply modern mom, and her blog has tons of date night ideas, a lot of which are cheap or free!

so here's our rules:
1}  we alternate who plans the date each week
2} the dates are a secret to the one who isn't planning it
3} most dates will need to be free or less than $20 (excluding special occasion dates)
4} no repeats on a date unless its been at least a month (for example, no movie night two weeks in a row)

i am so excited to start this! i feel like it will be a great investment in our marriage, will shake up our typical routine, AND will of course be fun!

  2. I would love to do that! Do all of the dates require a babysitter or are they home dates?

    1. we're going to do a lot of at-home dates after zuzu goes to bed, since getting a babysitter every week would be expensive. we're hoping though to get a babysitter for at least one week a month though. since your parents are so close, maybe you could have a babysitter every week!

    2. They're 40 minutes away, so that's not too long to travel once a week, but I don't know if I'd feel right monopolizing them every Friday or Saturday night. I like your idea of doing a home date once a week and then a night out once a month!
