prayer requests

1} a friend who is in jeopardy of losing her baby

2} a very dear friend who's husband has become an alcoholic. its been slowly getting worse over the past three years and has escalated to a dangerous level the past few months.

3} bryan's job hunt. monday he has a meeting that i am very optimistic about; a friend of mine had been praying for us that an opportunity would present itself and i think one has; it all happened very seemingly randomly and it would be the perfect job for bryan right now.

i feel like i've needed a lot of reminding lately. sometimes it feels easier to dwell on God's truth than other times and lately it has not been as easy for me, to be honest. its times like these i hit the books; i'm a reader and i find a lot of encouragement and conviction in devotional books, theology books, and of course the Good Book. i'm reading through Isaiah and also Because He Loves Me: How Christ Transforms Our Daily Life by Elyse Fitzpatrick in the mornings. i have been especially needing that refresher each morning.

“If we’re not completely convinced that his love is ours right now – fully and unalterably ours – we’ll always hide in the shadows, focusing on our performance, fearing his wrath… His love doesn’t fluctuate from day-to-day. It was settled the moment he set it upon you before the foundation of the world.” (Elyse Fitzpatrick, Because He Loves Me)

  1. I love the picture of you & Bryan with Zuzu underneath on the side of your blog! That's so cute! I'll be praying for #2 and #3 - and I can't wait to hear more about #3.

  4. it is so good. i've been trying to read a chapter a day. at first i was really tempted to skim the "basics" but those basics are things i needed to be reminded of.
