a day off

my three-day-weekend so far: B and i had a chickfila & movie at our place night with some friends on Friday. Saturday we went jogging together, went by Carmichaels (new journal! yay! plus, it feels good to support a local bookstore) and the library, lazed around. i read two novels and two poetry books. i tried a few new recipes this weekend--bacon parmeson penne (a big hit with B) and espresso rubbed steak. sunday i helped B. proofread his resume (!) so he can start sending it out this week. today he has to work until 5, so i've got the day off to myself. so far that has meant eating left over chinese food and watching HGTV. after i bring B. lunch, I figure i'll spend the rest of the day working on my manuscript, editing poems, and sending poems out to magazines. and possibly napping. Tonight we're going to go have dinner at Moe's and then see The Green Hornet. overall, a pretty relaxing & good day.

  1. Espresso rubbed steak!! Wow! Was it good? I want to know how to make that! I've never made steak successfully. :(

  2. it was SO GOOD! i'd never made steak right before either, but these turned out Perfect! i used a recipe i found in Martha Stewart living--i'll post it up sometime this week =)
