Water is essential for all dimensions of life.

~

I've been trying to drink more water this week. I'm very strange in that I hate to drink anything--I don't know why, I just would rather be thirsty than drink water--so I compared how much I normally drink in a day (maybe 2 mason jars of water) to how much I'm supposed to have (6 mason jars of water! what!?).

I've done good so far! 6 days of having the amount of water I'm Supposed to have and I can tell a little bit of a difference--I'm not as hungry in between meals, at least. I'm going to be very careful to drink the required amount for at least a month, so I can try to make a habit of drinking more water.

Note: My measurements are in mason jars because that is what we use instead of  water bottles. I got a pack of 12 for next to nothing and we use them all the time, for carrying drinks and cereal and whatnot. They also make pretty vases for wildflowers. and they cause my coworkers to stop by and say "Renee, are you drinking out of a JAR?" and I say "why  yes I am."

I like to surprise people but I am not very good about it. I get too excited and end up telling them. THIS time though, THIS time I will surprise Bryan for his birthday!

I'm not going to say what it is {yet}. Just that I am excited about it. And that I think it will make him feel loved&special&appreciated. Which is especially important for poor December-born people, whose birthdays are continually lumped in with Christmas!

11 more poems to write for the 30poems30days!

Bryan and I have officially watched through Blake's collection of Studio Ghibli movies. Our ranking, most favorite to least favorite:

1. Spirited Away
2. Kiki's Delivery Service
3. The Cat Returns
4. Princess Mononoke
5. Ponyo

But really they are all good

I'm thankful for Friday. This week has been one of those weeks that wears and bears down and makes being here a little hard...I know what I am mainly good at, and enjoy--being a wife, writing, homemaking--but it isn't profitable, in a monetary way.

It was strange to realize that I was not actually going to be one of those high-achieving workforce women that I had always pictured myself being. Also surprising to realize that I could Care Less about being successful, in that way.

but only one year left. light at the end of the tunnel. And my husband is working so hard, as hard as he can, to get through quickly. I just need patience and endurance and hope for the future.

  1. It's so interesting that you don't like to drink stuff...I'd rather drink than eat lots of times. :) But...that said...it's hard for me to drink water straight up, so I always add a wedge of lemon or lime. It's rather good that way!

I love "Renee, are you drinking out of a JAR?" "Why yes I am" I can see you saying that - so confident and nonchalant. ;)

  2. lol thanks! i do like drinking out of mason jars better than water bottles, give it a try, you won't go back!

the lemon/lime in my water helps some, but i still have to remind myself to drink as much as i should! hopefully i will make a habit out of it after this month!
