Ingredients:
- 8 oz uncooked maceroni (I used shells though)
- 2 c shredded cheese
- 1/2 c Parmesan cheese
- 3 c milk
- 1/4 c butter
- 2 1/2 tbs flour
- Cook pasta and drain
- Melt butter in a saucepan, stirring in a bit of flour to thicken it up. Add milk slowly, stirring the whole time. Stir in cheeses and cook until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens.
- Put macaroni in a large casserole dish, pour sauce over maceroni, and stir.
- I added a bit of extra shredded cheese and a bit of feta cheese (because we had it) to the top
- bake at 350 for 30 minutes
- enjoy!
I've started making homemade mac & cheese, too! (I don't like Aldi's instant mac & cheese, and Kraft is too expensive...almost $1 a box!) My recipe probably isn't nearly as classy/yummy as yours, but it's good if you have fewer ingredients on hand. I mixed butter, half & half, and shredded cheese for the sauce, melted it all together, topped the cooked noodles, and then baked it at 350 for 30 min. Homemade mac & cheese of any kind just tastes way better than anything in a box.
ReplyDeletesounds yummy, i'll try that version if i don't have all the ingredients for this one!
ReplyDeleteMmm, I haven't had instant mac and cheese and forever, and it's been even longer since I've had any homemade mac and cheese. I will have to try this!
