sestina

we're writing sestinas this week. the sestina is one tough mama.

my topic is mothering, my words are:
belief
chain
chart
think
mother
pregnancy

picked at random from a book of poetry.

i'm writing it very slowly, a stanza a day so far, maybe two today if i get to it. hoping to complete it by saturday, the due date.

i like the revolving revolving revolving of a sestina. its like chewing over a topic, in my mind. obsessing. but it is difficult for such free-verse-lings as myself. or maybe even for everyone.
