first comes love, then comes marriage. and then....

I'm pregnant!

We decided to tell the "world" today (hi there, world) now that we've called all the close friends and family. Honestly, its all still sinking in for me. I'm elated, and a little panicked, but overall happy, and excited! We don't have everything planned out yet (will we ever?). we're just taking this one day at a time...

{my pregnancy story, so far:}

January 12: first positive pregnancy test!
January 13: 2nd positive pregnancy test (I doubted the first one)
January 18: after a week of struggling with keeping it a secret, we decided to tell our family and close friends. for B., this was a welcome relief, but for me, who would've been just fine with keeping it a secret until I started to show, this was terrifying. i'm not sure why, but i was on the verge of a panic-attack from the thought of everyone Knowing...i guess everyone knowing made it seem like yes, this is really happening....
January 19: first morning sickness. up until then, i felt pretty good--a little tired, maybe. on the 19th it hit me all at once--i still haven't thrown up, but i feel dizzy, weak, very tired, and like i'm going to faint on and off throughout the day.oh yes, and i'm emotional. VERY emotional. i'm pretty much about to cry at any moment.
January 20: since we know that asking both of our families (our entire families) to keep a secret for 2 weeks just isn't feasible, we decided to go ahead and make it public!

I have my first doctors appointment on February 3rd. We'll find out how far along I am (we think I am 7 weeks right now, but we're not positive) and possibly hear the heartbeat (!?). Please pray that the baby and I will both be healthy and that there will be no complications. I'll be posting updates periodically--among, of course, little writings on poetry and regular things I blog about.

So...6 years ago B and I fell in love, 3 and a half years ago we got married, and, in about 7 or 8 months, we'll have a family. Wow!
